Dialogue on the Headland by Robert Graves

In the lead up to my last solo exhibition in March 2020, my proposal for another solo was accepted at Bunbury Regional Art Gallery. I had proposed a show about love, landscapes, and memory inspired by the poem  ‘Dialogue on the Headland’ by Robert Graves. The exhibition date was set for March 2022.

My fingers hurt! But the dolls are made and cut and standing for the moment ~the heat of the day wants to melt them. Three weeks till opening for my 3rd solo show.

Drawn then printed and cutout roughs. Affectionately nicknamed ‘toil’ ‘bubble’ and ‘double double’ for the moment.
Pencil on paper. The Rococco has loomed large in spirit and color palette for this upcoming work. Rococco from ‘rocaille’ literally means shell covered rock work that covered artificial grottos. But that was a meaning i stumbled upon.
