Photography

I learnt to take photos and use a dark room when I was 15 years old in Canberra at the Marist Brothers College down the road from my house. 

My father and grandfathers all had cameras and took photos throughout their war years. I grew up looking at war and street photography.  

In my early 20's I became an in-house photographer for the Shipwreck Museum of Western Australia. I have built dark rooms in cellars. 

I originally signed up for art school (NAS) with a photography portfolio but painting stole me away...

Photography remains the foundation of my arts practice and the lens  I use to investigate and interpret. My tools are a Leica DLux 7, iPhone 16 and I've an upcoming date with an old school Hasselblad.
